Most of us have been to, or at the very least heard of City Varieties Music Hall in Leeds – it’s a stunning venue and has welcomed some of the biggest British stars to its stage.
Now, Leeds audiences will be able to watch theatre live from around the world, including London and Stratford-Upon-Avon, from the comfort of one of Leeds’ best venues.
The state of the art cinema-standard equipment not only enables The Varieties to host the Live Streaming events but also Encore Screenings – a recording of the live event – as well as art and museum exhibitions.
Thursday 9th March will mark City Varieties’ first live streaming event, showing National Theatre’s Hedda Gabler live from London’s Lyttleton Theatre. Starring Ruth Wilson and Rafe Spall, this new version of Henrik Ibsen’s masterpiece has been widely talked about and should definitely be on any theatre-goers calendar!
Twelfth Night, starring Tamsin Greig in the role of Malvolia, is streaming from London’s Olivier Theatre Thursday April 6th, with Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, Angels in America (Parts 1 & 2), Peter Pan, Salomé and Yerma all coming to City Varieties very soon.
Book tickets for these exciting events via the City Varieties website.
