Even non-EastEnders fans must have heard of soap star Jessie Wallace, most famous for her role as Kat Slater. She’s also starred as Pat Phoenix in The Road to Coronation Street on the small screen and has made her mark on theatreland with roles in Rent Remixed and Stepping Out. This November, Jessie Wallace will be joining a whole host of big names to join the cast of Chicago at Leeds Grand Theatre!
Joining Jessie, who will play Mama Morton is John Partridge as Billy Flynn, Hayley Tamaddon as Roxie Hart, Sophie Carmen-Jones as Velma Kelly, Neil Ditt as Amos Hart and A.D. Richardson as Mary Sunshine.
John Partridge is also no stranger to the stage, having played Rum Tum Tugger in Cats in the West End, on tour and the official film of the show, and John in Miss Saigon on the first UK national tour. He’s also known for playing Christian Clarke in EastEnders and judging potential Dorothy’s on BBC1’s Over the Rainbow. Of course Haley Tamaddon is also a soap star, with previous roles in Coronation Street and Emmerdale!
Chicago is based on real life events back in the roaring 1920s, when nightclub singer Roxie Hart shoots her lover and along with cell block rival, double-murderess Velma Kelly, they fight to keep from death row with the help of smooth talking lawyer, Billy Flynn. Who doesn’t know hit tunes such as All That Jazz and Razzle Dazzle?
Don’t miss this epic show when it comes to Leeds Grand Theatre from 22nd November to 26th November!
