The trio of Helen Arney, Steve Mould and Matt Parker triumphantly return to Leeds with their tour, You Can’t Polish A Nerd.
Unashamedly by nerds, for nerds (and the unsuspecting guests those nerds drag with them), the science-comedy show hilariously covers topics from the unusual to the downright bizarre. Gravitational waves, an Escher-style live video, and deriving Pi using nothing but pies are a few of the highlights of the evening.
The large science sections expertly walk the line between quirky and cool – never delving too deep into the technical details as to alienate the audience. Instead, the hosts take a more science-light, personable approach, focusing on personal stories and the interesting results of experiments. This allows each host’s personality and passion for the topic to shine.
If you are a nerd, know a nerd or just want to learn the banana-equivalent dose of radiation for going to the dentist, this show is a must see.
