Get down to the first ever Great British Food Festival in Leeds, this Bank Holiday!
If you are a fan of the BBC’s Great British Bake Off or the Travel Channel’s Man vs Food, there are a few foodie surprises in store this weekend. As big food fans here at TSOTA with regular recipes from food blogger Alice Wood, we were excited to hear about the first ever Great British Food Festival happening in Leeds this weekend!
This bank holiday, Harewood House will be full of food lovers, chefs and artisan cooks for the first ever Great British Food Festival in Leeds. The line-up includes over 80 top local producers, celebrity chef demos, talks, kids and adult cookery lessons, great live music, a ‘Cake Off’ competition and ‘Men v Food’ challenges.
Howard Middleton, one of the popular Great British Bake Off (BBC1) finalists, will be giving a demo, offering hints, tips and advice to would-be bakers. He will also be judging the “”Cake Off” which is open to anyone to enter. Winners from the cake off will take home a fantastic foodie prize – and best of all, all entrants get free admission to the festival! Another headline chef set to appear is Stephanie Moon, Yorkshire’s own award winning chef, who has appeared on TV programmes including Great British Menu (BBC1).
You could also take part in a Men Vs Food Challenge! Challengers will be taking on either the Men V’s Meat, Men V’s Heat or the Men V’s Wheat challenge. The various tests are open to all Men and Women and involve a foot of chilli sausage, half pound burgers, extra hot ‘suicide sauce’ and pints of cider to name just a few!

The historic estate of Harewood House sits at the heart of Yorkshire. One of the treasure houses of England, the house was built in the 18th century and has art collections to rival the finest in the land in the setting of Yorkshire’s most beautiful landscape. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather, and whether you like to bake, cook or just enjoy your food, make sure to get down to Harewood House this bank holiday!
