West Yorkshire Playhouse leads the way with first ever blogger and influencer event
January 19, 2018
There is an increasing demand for theatres to connect with its existing and potential audiences through the power of digital marketing. Whilst traditional PR is steadfastly successful in spreading the news of upcoming shows, there is an untapped audience of digitally-minded millennials waiting to discover the joy of live performance.
This month, West Yorkshire Playhouse opens its doors to its first ever Blogger and Influencer evening, inviting local people to enjoy an evening of entertainment. Bloggers and influencers will be given a building tour, take part in a White Witch make-up tutorial, and have the chance to try on theatrical costumes in West Yorkshire Playhouse’s Costume Hire before settling down to watch The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe.
Such an inventive way to engage with the local community shows how in touch with the industry the West Yorkshire Playhouse is. Reaching out to influencers who will undoubtedly share their views with their followers is a great way to publicise a spectacular and groundbreaking show, and it should be a source of pride to have such a forward-thinking theatre representing our region. Hats off to them for leading the way.
Catch The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe until 27th January.
