What’s On This Summer: Behind The Mask BAFTA Portraits

The Gallery at Munro House is an independent gallery and exhibition space located just of Duke Street, Leeds. The Gallery opened its doors in 2011 and has showcased a variety of new and emerging talent as well as more acclaimed artists over the past few years. Offering a vibrant exhibition programme throughout the year as well as online art shop and cafe, The Gallery At Munro House is certainly worth a visit and should be fitted into your schedule this summer.
On show from the 2nd July is The Gallery’s latest exhibition ‘Behind The Mask BAFTA Portraits’, which offers a unique opportunity to view images taken by the internationally acclaimed BAFTA photographer Andy Gotts MBE. This photography display is both unique and charming showcasing Gott’s talent in this wonderful gallery space.
This photography display presents images taken by Gotts throughout his 23 year career as a photographer, where he photographed individuals who have won or have been nominated for a BAFTA (The British Academy of Film and Television Arts) award since 1954. The project has been over two years to create and has seen Gotts travelling across the globe in order to photograph his subjects including Lauren Bacall, Jeff Bridges, Daniel Day-Lewis, Al Pacino, John Hurt, Sidney Poitier and Tilda Swinton. This exhibition organised by BAFTA gives you the rare opportunity to see these famous faces close up in one of the leading contemporary exhibition spaces in Leeds.
Behind The Mask BAFTA Portraits is on at The Gallery At Munro House until 1st August 2015.
